Garden finds 2024
Some elements I made this semester in the production / reproduction course.

These elements were derived from the designs of two vintage plates with motifs of nature. I was drawn to these pieces from a feeling of wanting to connect back with nature after living and working in the city for past 15 years, I’ve craved a garden, trees, birds, flowers! Translating the design elements from pieces that adorn our home into wearable works allows me to take that essence of nature with me.

One of my final pieces for @jsoexhibitions - the motifs are taken from some of my favourite vintage plates I’ve collected, redrawn and designed into wearable pieces using multiple reproduction techniques.

Really proud of my etched pieces for @jsoexhibitions repetition. These patterns are from an element in my home repeated at the front and back as well as wearable inserts. I’m hoping to add hinges at some stage over the break.

Used a doming block today for the first time @qcadgriffith creative open day. Love spending time in the studio with @jsoexhibitions and @thejsocollective ❤️
Looking forward to starting back for the final year of uni in a couple of months. Starting to feel like I’ve almost recovered from last semester which was super full on with juggling work and uni. Really looking forward to painting more again and being in the studio at @qcadgriffith trying to figure out that sort of work I might do for the final grad show even though it’s a while away it always goes so fast!!

After making almost 35 of these casts, I strangely just don’t get sick of texture, unlike a lot of paintings and drawings I’ve done. I love that it’s personal as it’s cast directly from my home but at the same time it didn’t come from me. #printmaking
My little Sebys body has stopped making platelets which is causing all the bruising on his body. The vet said he’s at a high risk of having internal bleeding including his sweet, beautiful, angel brain 😩. Apparently it’s an immune response that can just be triggered and they’re not sure what causes it. I had no idea it was even a condition. He just has to make it through the next few weeks on his medication to get out of the danger zone. ❤️🙏 The vet said it’s surprising how much energy he has considering how unwell he is so I actually have to stop him from moving around or doing anything!
Feel free to give my little Sebastian some good thoughts, just waiting to hear if he might have an autoimmune disease that he may not live long from but trying to be positive! 😫
So excited for my new little @itskookish collection - crying happy tears after crits went well today. 🥲❤️
