This work was exhibited as Impress Gallery in 2023. The casts are impressions taken from the exterior walls of my long-term rental apartment. Developed from a fascination with texture, I’ve utilised expanded print to capture the surface of the roughcast rendering, forming a tangible object, that connects me with my home and personal space. Using Hydrostone, a type of cement that hardens over time, these works are long-lasting yet remain fragile and delicate, requiring careful handling.
Through this work, I’m exploring the intimate relationship and layered meanings involving the house, the home and the body.
Handmade, embossed paper from recycled cotton sheets and Hydrostone TB.
Exhibited at Impress Gallery as a part of the group exhibition, əˈtræk.ʃən (attraction).
